We do not provide an “off the shelf” business plan – instead – we offer a uniquely bespoke and reliable service for both new and established companies. The Process of Creating your Business Plan
1. Free Telephone Consultation or On-Site Meeting
First, we chat. You tell us about your business idea, your goals and the purpose of the plan. This Free, No-Cost, No-Obligation consultation allows us to learn more about your business or proposal, the stage you are currently at and the direction of your business goals. The consultation will involve an informal discussion that allows a member of our team to learn more about your business. All communication is treating with the upmost confidence.
2. Business Plan Questionnaire
After establishing that we would both like to work together, we will send over a non-disclosure agreement and a bespoke questionnaire via email for you to complete. Your response via email or phone to these questions will be used to start work on the review or to develop the plan's structure. It is likely we will need more information from you throughout the process. A project timeline will be developed outlining any required meetings, research, etc for providing project milestones and deliverable's to complete the business plan.
After Step 2 is complete we will also ask for a 50% deposit of the agreed fee – please see below for further details on fees.
3. Review or Completion of the Draft Business Plan
Dependant on the complexity of the business plan and any additional information we may need from you, it can take from 5 days or up to 4 weeks for the completion of the draft business plan and an accompanying financial model. We will email you a draft business plan in either a Word or PDF document. Much of this time is spent researching your target demographic, your industry, competitor analysis and developing a comprehensive marketing section. As we mentioned previously, you will receive a completely bespoke and detailed business plan. In fact the “draft” business plan we send is near enough the final version in most cases.
4. Client Business Plan Review
Once you have received your draft business plan via email you may review it thoroughly and email/call us back with any requirements or amendments. We then incorporate any amendments in to the business plan, and once the remaining balance has been paid, you will receive both a Word document and pdf version of the business plan, the financial forecasts, appendices – including any additional information we have sourced which you might like to keep on file for reference.
The plan isn't complete until both you and the team at Smart Business Planning are satisfied with its content and quality.
Our Fees

We get that. We would do the same if we were in your shoes. You want to know how much all of this is going to cost and may be a bit wary if you have heard of companies charging €3,000 /€5,000 or more for business planning services.
Rest assured, our fees are far more affordable than you might expect. The cost of a business plan varies greatly depending on what type of plan you need. Some plans may be as simple as an executive summary and a one-page financial worksheet, while others can be well over 50 pages and contain several years of financial projections. We can usually make a reasonable estimate of your fee in our initial phone consultation.
Our fees depend on a number of factors, including the amount of information already provided, the complexity of your business and the financial forecasts as well as how much finance is required. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. We ask for 50% deposit before we begin work with the remaining 50% to be paid before we send you the final business plan.
Example Pricing:
- A two day existing business plan review will cost €300.
- A normal five day working engagement will be a minimum €695.
- Larger complex cases will cost more but fees are negotiable.
- Each workday spent on a plan is charge at a day rate
